In re: to going back in time in a Time Travel Machine, can you write an amusing paragraph or 2 or more that...
includes these phrases? This is just a wee fun on Yahoo on a lovely day in Spring....NOT homework, my friends.
1. Oops!! Wrong year. Get me outta here!
2. Now what would Matt Dillon do at a time like this?
3. A Tyrannosaurus Rex is after me....beam me up, Scotty!!
4. Nothing could have prepared me for the sight of the baby in the manager.
5. President Lincoln. PLEASE listen to me!
6. You know you're in trouble when you're the smartest guy in the cave.
I REALIZE THE WORK THAT GOES INTO THESE THINGS.......BUT I CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE STORY.....I ENJOY READING ALL OF THEM,FRIENDS.
I MEANT TO SAY.........
Nothing could have prepared me for the sight of the baby in the MANGER.
Sorry,Jesus.
Dear Mr. Wells,
The six members of the experimental group which tried out your "time-travel" device left the above messages in the recording portion of the control-panel before leaving the machine and failing to return. We can only conclude that the device still has some technical bugs to work out before further Beta testing is initiated by our laboratories.
To be brief, Mr. Wells, don't call us, we'll call you.
Sincerely,
NemoTech Labs
J. Verne, Associate
P.S.- The reference to a "baby in a manager" may bear further investigation by our obstetrics division, InVitroCo. You may have someting there.
WiMax: The Solution to Many Travelers’ Troubles
Whether it’s the holiday season or particular heinous travel days sprinkled throughout the year, airlines have been seriously failing their customer base lately, prompting for a whole lot of angry emails, tweets, and even news stories. Increasingly stricter security measures combined with inadequate staffing are making it a nightmare for those who travel even just occasionally, and businesspeople and others who are perpetually on the road have reported that things are significantly worse in the States than they have been for quite some time. Not even free wireless internet from Google during the holiday season was enough for those thousands who were stranded for days on end in various airports across the country.
For many travelers, their stress was directly related to missing one of two important things: work or family time. With family time, moms and dads might be more forgiving, but often, bosses are less so. And if everyone else with a laptop in the entire airport has logged on and connected with the local wireless internet connection, then this means that things aren’t exactly moving quickly enough to get any real work done, aside from some email checking and general worrying.
For the next holiday season, or any travel time, really, many businesspeople are considering switching from the internet as most of us know it to a new and more exciting way of connecting. With mobile broadband, it is now possible to get online easily, just like with any cell phone that automatically connects to its network when switched on. With WiMax, computers do the same thing, automatically picking up the strongest local signal and beaming it to the computer. This means the ability to not just work, but to video-conference and edit intensive material, from the road. This also means that everyone’s planes getting grounded is slightly less traumatizing, because you will have the tools in place to still manage to get things done.
A lot of business travelers and people on the go in general have found that during tough times at the airport, people turn to their smartphones and check their email/make calls from there, rather than just dragging out the laptops. While there is a lot of merit to picking up the internet on various handheld Apple devices, the touchscreen leaves a lot to be desired for many users, who just simply aren’t going to have their video conference through a BlackBerry, no matter where they are. With WiMax, the connection is always guaranteed to be strong and secure, with a significant decrease in the amount of lag time and stalled signals that often come with trying to Skype not just on wireless, but on anything less than a 4G network to begin with.
So now, whether you’re stuck at the airport for the holidays or just riding the commuter rail train into work, it’s possible to avoid getting stressed out by holiday delays wreaking potential havoc on work and family schedules. Simply use what’s at hand to get things done, and get on with things.
About the Author
Travel delays are always annoying, but they are significantly less so when one’s computer comes with clear access wireless. Unlike other providers, Clear wireless internet makes it easy to connect from just about anywhere, jet-lagged or not.
