how can u decorate an old black backpack?
i have an old black boring backpack and i want to decorate it and give it to my 12 year old girl any advise?
If it has those loops in the front that are supposed to be used for holding key chains try lacing a thin ribbon through the hoops. I did this with my backpack & it loked very unique- kind of like ballet shoes. You can also try pins or using fabric glue to glue on some pretty ribbon.

Outdoor Cookware For Your Backpacking Adventure – All You Need To Know
It is essential that a backpacker should have a really good set of cookware for their backpacking trips. As outdoor cooking presents its own problems, by not having a good set of cookware will compound the problem and make things worse. The cookware that is used for backpacking is very different to what you use at home in the kitchen. To know exactly what cookware to choose it is essential you understand about the different types of outdoor cookware that are available.
When it comes to backpacking cookware, there are primarily three different materials that they are made from and these are: stainless steel, aluminum and titanium, Originally, for many years aluminum was the favorite material of choice as is it lightweight. This is key to the backpacker as the lighter the load the better. However, aluminium can cause food to stick, making it difficult to clean and can not be very durable. Also it breaks down over time and can affect your health. These days there are other, better materials available for your backpack cookware such as aluminum coated cookware which is non-stick and does not pose any potential health problems. However, it is a little heavier.
Another alternative material to backpacking cookware is stainless steel. What was once heavy, with the advancement of new technology has introduced lightweight versions. This material is very durable but is not the best at distributing heat. You need to be sure that food is evenly cooked.
Titanium is virtually an ideal material for your backpacking cookware – however, it comes at a cost. It is very durable and heat food evenly. It possesses all the qualities of the other materials so is the best cookware you can buy on the market today. For the keen enthusiast backpacker, this material will be first choice so the cost will not be an issue.
Look for a rounded bottom pan as it is easy to clean as well as a better distribution of heat. If you can get cookware that is black on the outside it will absorb heat far better. Some backpackers paint their pans black with stove paint. Look for a tight lid as it makes for more efficient cooking and folding handles will make the cookware easier to pack.
